Check-Ups & Stats

This morning we went to the doctor for Nora and Liam's check-ups. Believe it or not, Liam is 4 months old today! I can hardly believe how quickly it is going by. Nora had her 2 year check-up, and if she stays healthy for the next year, she won't have to go again until she is three. That beats going every couple of months, for sure!

Here are Nora's 2 year statistics:

Height: 33.5 inches (45th percentile)
Weight: 24 lbs. (<25th percentile)
Head Circumference: 75th percentile

Nora was awesome at the doctor today. Normally she is a basket case, crying the moment the doc comes in and all the way until we're in the car. However, she only cried today when she got her shots. She got a flu shot and another vaccination that had been on back order for the past few months! She stopped crying shortly after her shots and was so excited about her purple band-aid. I think she did so well because she saw everything happen to Liam before it happened to her. He was weighed and measured first, got checked by the nurse first, and was examined by the doc first. Being a few months older and being able to rationalize a bit more about what was going on surely did help. Plus, Liam just smiled and cooed during all of his check-up, so I guess Nora saw that it wasn't too bad.

Here are Liam's 4 month statistics:

Height: 25.5 inches (75th percentile)
Weight: 15 lbs, 11 oz (75th percentile)
Head Circumference: 43.2 cm (75th percentile)

My baby boy was so good! He just smiled and flirted and did his thing while he got poked and prodded, not minding one bit! He does have the start of a cold, so the doc suggested we wait a few more days before giving him his vaccinations. In case he has a reaction to the vaccines, we may not be able to distinguish between his cold and the reaction, so he said it's best to wait. So, back to the doctor we'll go sometime next week. Dr. G said that Liam looks more like a six month old than a four month old. He's such a big boy.

There are only about 8 lbs difference between Nora and Liam. He's going to beat her in weight in just a matter of months! Looking back at Nora's weight at her six month appointment, she weighed 14.5 lbs and was just at 25 inches. Liam is bigger now at 4 months than Nora was at six! It's so amazing how different these two are.

Also, Liam is now rolling to his right side. I don't think it will be too much longer before he's rolling all the way over from back to belly. He has rolled from his belly to back a few times, but really he only does this when he's crying and mad. He doesn't do it because he wants to. He can push up on his hands when on his belly and is really wiggle worm. I definitely think Liam will crawl, unlike his sister.
