On days that we are home in the morning (which is most days), Nora and Liam have "room time" where they play independently in their rooms for about 30-45 minutes. Over the past few weeks, Liam has started to do this:
Actually, the pictures I took this day were early on in this new activity. One day, he emptied his ENTIRE toy box into his bed. I guess he has big plans for naptime! Silly, crazy kiddo!

What do you do during their independent play? I need to do this with Gavin during Henley's morning nap!
Hey Allyson,
I usually use that time to clean up from breakfast, start laundry, fold laundry, make my bed, start dinner, return phone calls, etc. It's my only uninterrupted time until naptime, so I try to get as much done as I can around the house. They play with toys, read books, basically whatever they want to do in their room without being destructive. Sometimes Liam has a hard time, but he's built up to the amount of time he's in there now. We can chat more if you are interested in how I introduced it to them. I love it!
