New Things Ahead

Well, I know I haven't blogged about it much (or talked about it openly with very many people, for that matter), but we Bradshaws have some big news!  As of this week, we are officially new homeowners!  We closed on our new house just a few days ago, and we are so unbelievably excited.

A new home is something that we have been praying about for a few years.  Last year, if you remember, we put our house of the market, but after six months it became apparent that we weren't going to be able to sell our house for what we would like; we just knew the timing wasn't right for us to move. So, we took it off and decided to wait on the Lord's timing.  A year later, the Lord has so kindly provided us with a new and fabulous house.  I cannot wait to share pictures, but I haven't managed to take very many.  Above is a picture of our new backyard!  Isn't it amazing!?  If you have seen our current house, we have a major hill, so to go to a backyard that is large AND flat is wonderful, especially since we basically live next door to the Smokey Mountains.

We are not moving in right away because we have some work that needs to be done first, so I have a few weeks to get everything packed.  We are just thrilled and are so thankful for the Lord's provision.  It's been a crazy past few months as we've gone through the whole process of making offers, counter-offering, and jumping through the many hoops that the IRS and the lenders put before us.....buying a house is definitely not as easy as it used to be before the economy took a dive.  However, all of those things seem worth it as we have watched our kids run through the empty house, already riding their bikes down the driveway and running around the backyard.  We will have so many memories made in this new house!  Also, we know that the Lord has provided this so that we can open our hearts and home to those in our lives.  We look forward to hosting our Care Group and having even more space to show hospitality and love to our friends and family.
