I am 39 weeks, 1 day pregnant today!
I have had an unbelievably wonderful pregnancy. Praise the Lord! However, I must say, that today I have never felt MORE pregnant. I am READY! We cannot wait to meet our little man, and I am ready to have my body back, baby!
At my appointment today, all looked great! I am now 3 centimeters dialated. YEAH! I have been walking a lot this week, even conquering the monstrous hills in our neighborhood a few nights this week, so it seems all that work plus the random contractions I've been having have paid off. The doctor said I am dialated, thinned out, and that Liam's head is down and engaged. Her words were, "Well, you might make it to Monday!"
I'm about to go shave my legs....just in case!
Anyway, keep checking in to see if our little man makes his debut this weekend, but if not, he'll definitely be here by Monday. We are to report to the hospital around 5:30 am, so YEAH, I won't be sleeping much that night. We'll keep you posted.
Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain; unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. Psalm 127:1

Like Mother, Like Daughter?
One night last week, Jonathan took Nora on a "Daddy-Daughter Date" to Chick-fil-a while I went to dinner with the ladies from our Care Group. Just to clarify, there is typically no question in my mind as to where these "dates" will take place being that Chick-fil-a is the favorite food of both JB and Nora.
Anyway, on my way home from dinner, I checked my cell phone only to realize that I had missed a text from Jonathan hours earlier asking me how many nuggets Nora usually eats. (I told him before he left, but that's beside the point). When I got home, I asked him how many nuggets she ate and he said 5. 5!? She usually eats 3-4, but 5! No problem, I thought, she probably didn't eat that many french fries since she was full on chicken, surely! How many fries? "Oh, not that many. Like 6 or 8." Wow! I normally give her about 3, maybe 4. He then went on to explain that they also shared a dessert parfait that was being passed out as a freebie, and she had two cups of milk...one at dinner and one when she got home! I guess my girl had one huge appetite that night. Maybe I need to offer her more food!?
One more funny thing about that night is that Jonathan said Nora definitely proved to be like me. After dinner, they were playing in the play area, which is something new for Nora since she's only been walking for a bit. He said she didn't really play too much, mostly observing all the big kids running around. But, at one point, he looked for her and where was she? By the shoe bin, taking all of the shoes that the other kids had haphazardly thrown down and putting them in the individual slots. What can I say? We like to be organized!

Some Fun Things About Nora at 20 Months
I realize that things are definitely about to crazy around here. With a twenty month old and a newborn, I am going to be quite busy, quite tired, and quite stressed! I have been cherishing the past several months with Nora because I know that both of our worlds, but especially hers, are fixing to change. Never again will it be just the two of us during the day. As excited as I am about my little boy's arrival, I will miss these days with my precious baby girl. God has been so good to us in our sweet Nora and we love her so much.
I wanted to write down a few things that she is doing these days so that I don't forget amidst the pending chaos. Also, these things always bring joy to my heart, so it will be helpful to document them so I can look back and recall all of the adorable things she is doing at this stage.
**Nora's girliness is still so apparent. She loves lotion, makeup, shoes, purses, hairbows, and clothes. She likes to pick out her pajamas at night, and one of my favorite things is when she finds my lotion and brings it to me to put on her.
**Nora is turning into quite the music lover. She is constantly singing her own "songs" or asking me or Jonathan or anyone else for that matter to sing her songs. Her current favorites include "The Wheels on the Bus," "The Sing Sing Song" from Elmo's World (which has many variations), "Honey, Honey" which is from the Mamma Mia soundtrack, and "The Tummy Song" which is a Bert and Ernie number about rubbing your tummy and patting your head. Seriously, I sing these in my sleep.
**Coloring is about the coolest thing we can do on any given day.
**She is getting so good at playing outside at the playground. As my mother-in-law pointed out just the other day, she is almost out of the toddling stage. Her walking has improved so much in such a short period of time, and she is officially walking like a big girl. My bones hurt watching her play at the park, but I know she needs to learn how to climb and play (safely) on her own. It's bittersweet to watch her master these things!
**Nora's vocabulary and memory continue to amaze us. She has just started putting simple sentences together, which just blows my mind. I wonder if Liam will be a quiet one since Nora will probably dominate their conversations. Her newest expression is, "Um....Guess so." Most of the time, it's hysterical because she uses the expression correctly, but I'm not convinced she knows what she's saying because other times it doesn't make any sense in regard to what I ask her.
**She's a Momma's girl. This is difficult at times, especially being that I am quite pregnant. I know the transition of having a new baby in the house will be difficult for Nora for a while, especially because she is so attached to me. Jonathan and I have spent much time talking about this, trying our hardest to mentally prepare ourselves for the difficulties that await us. We are praying that the Lord will give us grace in this area. Grace for patience, endurance, faithfulness in loving, caring for, disciplining, and training her. I also pray that God will give me wisdom so I know when Nora needs special attention and comfort. Whew, I am overwhelmed just thinking about it. Please keep us in your prayers.
**She's turning into a Daddy's girl. This couldn't make Jonathan any happier. He is so smitten with his little girl, and they have such good times together. I have a feeling that Nora will cling to her Daddy even more in the future as I am busy caring for Liam.
20 months. Wow, it seems like yesterday that I was 38 weeks pregnant for Nora. I pray that even with all of the craziness that's about to occur that we will be able to cherish our children and the little things that make them so special.

Update on Liam
Well, I just got back from the doctor's office for my 38 week check-up. All is going right on schedule, we're just waiting for this little man to arrive. The doctor checked, and I am 1, almost 2 centimeters dialated and I have thinned out, so all of these contractions have been doing something! Thankfully!
The dr. thinks things look favorable for an induction, so we've gone ahead and scheduled an induction for Monday, May 4. That's only 11 days away! Of course, Liam could decide to come on his own at any time, which would be fabulous!

Braggin' on My Man
I just had to brag on my sweet hubby for a minute.
He has been so kind to me lately. Not that he's not a sweetheart most of the time, but lately it seems that he's been going out of the way to care for me. Perhaps it's because I am now waddling, but I think it's because he loves me.
Tonight for instance: He came home from work to leftovers and ate supper like it was gourmet. (It wasn't). After supper, he changed a dirty diaper, then loaded Nora and I up in the car for some ice cream from Bruster's. On the way home, he stopped to wash and vacuum my car and stopped to fill the car with gas. While I bathed Nora, he mowed our grass. What a servant!
I love you, babe, and so appreciate how you care for your girls.

Snuggie!
When my parents came in town last weekend, my dad brought me a present.....a Snuggie!
If you haven't heard of these things, you must check them out. I, honestly, thought they were the funniest things, but now that I own one, I must say it's a nice way to wrap up to read or watch tv. I'm just glad I can say it was a gift and that I didn't buy it for myself.

37 Weeks and Other Goings On

Well, we've made it to 37 weeks which means that I am officially full term. I technically have three weeks until my due date, but we're at a great spot if this little man decides to come early. I am really feeling pretty well, just uncomfortable at night which is to be expected.
My mom and dad came in last Friday to spend Easter weekend with us. We had a great time and really enjoyed their visit. Nora instantly took to my dad and was his girl the whole time! He got a kick out of teaching her all of our first names: Casey, Jonathan, Roger, Peggy, Paul, Joyce. Those are the names of all of the grandparents in case you weren't aware. I don't really think Nora knows who is who, but she gets the biggest kick out of saying "Roger" and "Poggy," mostly because of our laughing reactions, I'm sure. My mom has also taught Nora the song "The Wheels on the Bus" which has been a big hit and something we do probably 4-5 times a day.
My dad left town on Monday, but my momma is here until Friday afternoon. We have had such a great time visiting, preparing for Liam's arrival, cooking together, and hanging out with Nora. My mom has been so helpful in reminding me of things I am going to need. She's been a real motivator for the past few days and we've gotten a lot accomplished, so Liam, you can arrive anytime now buddy. Oh wait, Daddy leaves town tomorrow until Saturday night, so atleast wait until he gets home and a bit recovered from his trip.
Finally, I found out this morning that one of my dearest friends from home lost her father this morning to pancreatic cancer. I cannot imagine the heartache and pain she is experiencing right now, but please join me in praying for my precious friend, Brigette, and her family. Thanks.

Pregnancy Update: 36 Weeks
Well, last night was eventful for me. I was woken up at 2 am by this little wiggleworm in my belly doing all sorts of dancing. It took me a while to realize that I was having contractions, but then they started kicking in with some strong tension about every 10 minutes. There wasn't much pain, but I couldn't sleep through them. This went on for about 3 hours before I was finally able to drift off to sleep. All I kept thinking about was how UNprepared I am if I do go into labor in the next week or so. I have so much to do, so maybe this was a wake-up call from the Lord that I need to get moving!
Today, I had my 36 week appointment that included an ultrasound and a test for Group B Strep (fun...ahem, sarcasm, sarcasm). Jonathan was able to make the appointment, and we were so excited to see our little Liam on screen again. He is head down! Alleluia. My dreams of a breech birth won't come true, it seems like! Liam also appears to have some hair on his little head that was showing up on the ultrasound, so maybe he'll take after the Indian blood of the family and come out with a head full of jet black hair. You think?
Another bit of news that concerns me is that it appears we have a big boy on our hands. I am measuring right on target at 36 weeks, but the ultrasound showed that Liam currently weighs 6 lbs., 12 oz. Typically, the weight ranges within a pound of this estimation, but STILL! I have 4 weeks to go with him gaining approximately 1/2 lb. per week. We could possibly be talking about a 9 lber here. I hurt just thinking about it. Honestly, though, I bet he's smaller than the estimation predicted him to be. Nora at 40 weeks gestation was born weighing 6 lbs., 14 oz. That's only 2 oz. more than Liam supposedly weighs now. But, anything is possible and he certainly has proven to be a bigger baby from the get go, so we'll just have to wait and find out when he gets here.
So far, I have not dialated at all. This is good news for now because Jonathan is heading out of town for several days next week, and with the contractions I was having last night, I was thinking that I had dialated some, but so far, I haven't. We want Daddy to be at the delivery, so please pray that Liam will wait to make his debut until Jonathan's return.
I believe that is all of the scoop on our little man. Easter is just a few days away, and we have a jam-packed weekend ahead of us. My parents are getting into town tomorrow afternoon. My dad has to head home on Monday, but my Momma will be here for a week! I am so excited! They haven't seen Nora since New Year's, so they have much to catch up on.
I pray that your Easter weekend is blessed and that the gift of salvation and Christ's death and resurrection is alive in your heart. We are so blessed to be so loved by a God that willingly paid the price for our sin so that we can live lives full of grace and freedom from the reign of sin.

Today
I don't know if it's the snow today...
the fact that I am overcoming allergy issues...
or that I am 36 weeks pregnant tomorrow (the countdown is in the 20's)...
but I haven't gotten out of my pajamas.
PJ pants. Check. JB's tshirt. Check. Robe. Check.
Even better, when my husband got home and saw my current "state," he smiled and laughed and told me I'm cute. He's so sweet and supportive!
It's been a good day!

Pregnancy Pictures
Below are some pictures taken by one of my close friends, Suzanne, a little over a week ago in Downtown Knoxville. Suzanne and I took the Photography class together, and as you can see, she is muy talented! 4 children, two strollers, two cameras, one preggo lady, sack lunches, and beautiful weather equaled a wonderful time and some great pictures. Thanks, Suz! I had a blast and love what you captured!

Linea Negra
You know that line that pregnant women get on their bellies? I looked on Wikipedia and the correct name is the linea negra. I had a pretty pronounced linea negra with Nora, but for some reason, I don't have one with Liam. Any ideas why? Did any of you guys have inconsistencies like this when pregnant? I tend to think that it's because this time is a boy and the hormones are all involved, but who knows? Just thought I'd put that out there in case their are any medical genuises who read this silly blog.
